A full-height platform screen door is a type of railway platform equipment. It is installed as a safety facility to prevent waiting passengers from accidentally falling onto the tracks and getting injured. By fully sealing the platform, it also helps prevent air-conditioning loss, making it suitable for use on platforms equipped with air-conditioning systems.

After the installation of these automatic screen doors, the platform and tunnel spaces are fully enclosed and separated, with the doors only opening synchronously when the train stops at the platform and the train doors are perfectly aligned with the screen doors. This prevents passengers from leaning out, running alongside the train, or accidentally falling onto the tracks, along with any risk of personal injury or loss of belongings. Additionally, the doors reduce the exchange of hot and cold airflows between the platform area and the track area, lowering the operational energy consumption of the air conditioning system. They also form a sound insulation barrier between the platform and the tracks, significantly reducing the noise generated by running trains in the metro waiting area.
