2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. The Central Business District (CBD) of Egypt’s New Administrative Capital is a major Belt and Road Initiative project. The project has been hailed by the Egyptian government as the “Pyramids of the New Era” of Egypt.

It is currently the largest and highest-standard cluster of modern high-rise buildings on the African continent. Centered around the Iconic Tower, the tallest building in Africa, the CBD brings together multiple Grade-A high-rise office towers, business complexes, luxury hotels, and supporting public facilities.

With its modern architectural design and international construction standards, the project is redefining the skyline of North Africa and serving as a prestigious national landmark that represents Egypt on the international stage.

The high-rise business district is characterized by a harsh desert climate, with significant temperature variations throughout the year and heavy daily pedestrian traffic. These conditions impose extremely high international-standard requirements on the entrance control systems in terms of sealing performance, weather resistance, operational stability, high-frequency durability, and architectural aesthetics.

The core buildings feature high-end curtain wall systems and premium interior finishes, requiring professional entrance automation brands to provide integrated, customized, and highly compatible entrance solutions.

To meet the project’s special operating conditions and the requirements of its high-end curtain wall and interior finishing systems, KBB developed 9 sets of non-standard customized all-glass crystal revolving doors specifically for the Iconic Tower, the tallest building in Africa, providing an integrated overseas high-rise entrance solution tailored to the project.
